Cubana and Leopold Square favourites MONTUNO return to Leopold Square to celebrate their 20th year. First featured on the Craig Charles Funk & Soul BBC Radio Show 20 years ago (and more recently his legendary live show at The Foundry), they have been at the heart of Sheffield's Jazz, Funk & Soul scene.
They've also been part of huge musical milestones for Sheffield over these 2 decades; from regularly featuring in and curating TRAMLINES Fringe events from it's inception in 2009, to playing 2 MOBOs showcase gigs (Winter Gardens & City Hall) when Sheffield hosted the MOBOs in 2024.
Most recently they've been championing the Jazz Funk & Soul Renaissance in Sheffield. We are regular collaborators with the FOOTPRINTS JAZZ CLUB and FUNKY DRUMMER PROMOTIONS. Montuno played on the Yellow Arch main stage of the inaugural KELHAM JAZZ FESTIVAL this year, and they featured in the city's first BRAZILIAN CARNIVAL last Spring
