Gather at for a Monthly Wine Masterclass at INTERMISSION, the hotel’s intimate wine bar and lobby lounge in Melbourne CBD.
Held on the last Saturday of every month, this guided wine tasting experience is a rotating showcase of celebrated Australian winemakers and professionals, bringing the cellar-door experience to the city.
Informal by design, it is an easy after-work or pre-dinner event. This wine tasting is also a great way to meet new people. The format is relaxed, the group is small, and conversation flows easily over good wine and shared discovery.
Each masterclass features four premium wines, with the winemaker or brand representative guiding guests through the line-up and sharing more about the winery, the region, and the wines in the glass.

This month's edition features an exciting new tasting experience 'A Trip Around Europe, without leaving Melbourne CBD'. Hosted by Wine Professional Patrick Dowling from Cellarhand Wines, this four country, four glass wine line up is a tailored journey so you don't have to travel to Europe!
Patrick has dedicated his career to the wine industry over a 33-year period, traversing fine wine retail, marketing, brand management, portfolio management, ambassador and other specialised roles. Patrick has a degree in Wine Marketing from Adelaide Uni, has lived and worked in wine in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, and is an accomplished and active member of the wine judging community. Patrick completed the highly regarded Advanced Wine Assessment Course in 2024, and has been an active member of several industry bodies over the years, including Wine Communicators of Australia and Wine Industry Tasmania. Patrick has on occasion gotten his hands dirty during vintage over the years, however you're much more likely to find him swirly something pleasing in his glass over lunch these days than cleaning out a press.
