Whether you’re a long-time supporter of the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 or brand new to our work, this is a great opportunity to connect with others in the community while helping care for and grow one of our shared orchard spaces.
We host volunteer days on the 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 to support ongoing orchard and site development. Volunteers may help with seasonal tasks such as composting, planting, nursery work, and general site care. No prior experience is needed, everyone is welcome.
This is a hands-on, community-focused workday where you can learn more about the orchard and how the site is cared for while contributing to the long-term health of the site.

𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Camp Washington Perennial Farm
𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀: 3220 Colerain Ave, Cincinnati, OH
𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲: Third Saturday of each month
𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲: 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Use the River City lot, park nearest to the farm entrance and walk over to the farm
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁
- Seasonal orchard and farm tasks (varies by month)
- A welcoming, collaborative environment
- Light snacks and water provided
- Please wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes suitable for outdoor work
- The farm is still in development, so ground conditions may be uneven
- The nearest public restroom is available at Mom & ’Em Coffee nearby

To give an idea of the types of projects volunteers may help with throughout the year, here is a sample list of seasonal activities. Exact tasks may change depending on site needs, and we will guide volunteers through whatever work is most relevant for that month.
✔ 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 – Compost bagging & winter cleanup
✔ 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 – Nursery work, potting herbs & flowers
✔ 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 – Berry planting
✔ 𝗠𝗮𝘆 – Final nursery potting & site prep
𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 – Mulching & orchard maintenance
𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 – Cover crop & flower harvest
𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 – Summer cleanup
𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 – Tree nursery prep for orchard install
𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 – Chasing chickens & mulching beds
𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 – Fall cleanup & winter prep
𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 – NO VOLUNTEER DAY (Christmas break)
We really hope to see you there! The farm has grown so much over the years, thanks to volunteers like you. We are so excited to see this next phase of growth with added berries, flowers, the orchard coming into maturity, and the expansion of the compost program.
