Monthly Program - “Still Life Shooting”

In lieu of a speaker, the July Program will be aninteractive session where members will bring their cameras and practice shooting still life images. There will be 8-10 stations set up with continuous light sources available. No flash. Light sources will be soft boxes, umbrellas, a light tent, and a lightbox. Some backgrounds and objects to photograph will be provided but members are encouraged to bring their own items. In addition to a camera and choice of lens, members are encouraged to bring a tripod. John Shriver and possibly others have agreed to bring view cameras and can answer questions and demonstrate view camera techniques. Members are encouraged to work in teams as someone may need to hold a reflector or adjust the lights. This is meant to be a fun and educational session. For those who’ve been participating in the novice classes, this will be an excellent opportunity to practice using the aperture priority mode and getting an appreciation for depth of field, while also practicing with lighting and modifiers.
