Explore local trails and connect with fellow nature lovers on 4-8 mile mostly moderate difficulty hikes around the Bay. Good physical fitness with the ability to hike a minimum of 5 miles that may include hilly terrain required.

Golden Gate Park's Big Art Loop

Our route: In just 5 miles, our walk through the eastern half of Golden Gate Park will bring us to Blue Heron Lake, atop Strawberry Hill, and through rose gardens, a redwood grove, oak woodlands, and the AIDS Memorial Grove, plus some hidden delights. A highlight will be several Big Art Loop sculpture installations along JFK Promenade and the Panhandle.

Meet time: 10 a.m., rolling out at 10:05

Meet location: Japanese Tea Garden, 75 Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr, SF 94118. Meet at the entrance. Restrooms nearby.

Details: Terrain is a mix of pavement and well-maintained trails. Includes one climb up to Strawberry Hill. The hike duration is approximately 2.5 hours. Bring water, snacks, and anything else you need. Restrooms along the route. Heavy rain cancels.

Note: The hike is a loop, finishing at our starting point. Easy transit access: The 44 O'Shaughnessey stops here, and the N Judah, 7 Haight, and 5 Fulton stop 10-15 minutes away. If you're driving, use the Music Concourse Garage or allow a few minutes to hunt for parking.

About Clubs @ Manny's - Manny's Clubs are discussion groups that convene once a month for 90 minutes to discuss a wide variety of topics. Led by community moderators, the groups are meant to bring together ideas and build community. Groups may exchange ideas, discuss specific works or decide to take a field trip. Actionable outcome is not required but is encouraged. Participants are asked to make a 6 month or yearly commitment. Moderators will be in direct contact with participants after subscription purchase.
