Monthly Habitat Improvement Meetup for Charlotte Sawyers Nature Area
A typical meetup focuses on trail maintenance, removal of invasive plants, and habitat improvement for wildlife. All tools, supplies, and training will be provided. Everyone is welcome, including kids as long as they are with an adult (please note there are no dogs permitted at this park to protect the property and wildlife). There is no registration. Volunteers can plan on just showing up!
☀️ Community Service: Companies and groups are invited to complete community service hours at Charlotte Sawyers Nature Area. These can be during the monthly meetups on the 2nd Sunday or scheduled for most any time. Example projects include clearing dead trees, weeding, staining the information kiosk and picnic tables, and other ways to improve the natural area.
☀️ Missouri Master Naturalists: Capstone projects are welcome to be completed at Charlotte Sawyers Nature Area. These can be during the monthly meetups on the 2nd Sunday or scheduled for most any time. We are also seeking leaders to help with 30-60 minute education programs held throughout the year.
📲 Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions you may have or to coordinate additional volunteering. Occasionally, volunteer workdays need to be canceled or rescheduled due to inclement weather or hazardous conditions; check the Platte Land Trust’s Facebook page for announcements.
