Montgomery Cemetery Walk – A Riveting Journey through Early Settler HistoryJoin us for a family-friendly, not-at-all-scary historical cemetery walk! Join small-group tours through Riverside Cemetery to meet costumed interpreters—the “ghosts” of Montgomery’s early settlers and historical figures. Each character shares captivating stories from the village's past, bringing history to life in an engaging and educational way. This is a free event for the community hosted by Montgomery Historic Preservation Commission
While the event is free, donations to support the ongoing mission of the Historic Preservation Commission are always welcome.
Date & Time: Wednesday, October 1, 2025
Rain Date: Thursday, October 2 (same time and location).
Plan Ahead:
- Bring a flashlight and wear sturdy shoes.
- Complimentary refreshments provided by Dieterle Memorial Home.
- Arrive any time between 7:00–8:00 PM—tours depart every ~10 minutes.
- FREE admission!

(Tours begin at the corner of River & Taylor Streets, southeast side of the cemetery)
