Event Information:
Monster's Ball This Halloween, Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro transforms into a sonic sance for Monsters Ball, featuring four fearless improvisers: pianist Brian Haas, pianist/keyboardist Lawrence Sieberth, reeds master James Evans, and drummer/percussionist Pedro Segundo.Tulsa-born pianist Brian Haas (Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Nolatet) is known for fusing classical training with boundary-breaking jazz and avant-garde textures. New Orleans own Lawrence Sieberth is a versatile pianist, composer, and producer whose career has paired him with legends from Irma Thomas to Jason Marsalis. Welsh reeds player James Evans, now a New Orleans mainstay, brings a deep love of traditional jazz and an adventurous spirit honed through years of performance on both sides of the Atlantic. Lisbon-born Pedro Segundo, a dynamic percussionist and Guildhall-trained artist, is celebrated internationally for his vibrant and expressive command of rhythm across jazz, classical, and world music.Together, these monsters conjure a one-night-only performance of spectral improvisations, lyrical interplay, and rhythmically charged energy a fitting soundtrack for Halloween night. Expect dueling pianos, soaring reeds, thunderous percussion, and moments of eerie beauty in a concert that promises to be both playful and haunting. This multimedia event will also feature Live Light Painting by artist, Monica Rose Kelly. The time schedule for this evenings shows will be for 9 and 11pm instead of Snug Harbors usual showtimes at 7:30 and 9:30 pm.
