Monster Match Costume Party

🕯️ Spend your Halloween with us!This is a playful, consent-forward party where you can be your spookiest self, meet new people, and connect skip the small talk. No pressure, no expectations — just good vibes, cool costumes, and curious humans.

This queer-friendly space has great drinks, music, pool tables, and plenty of room to mingle, dance, or get cozy with new friends.

🦇 Costumes Encouraged (but never required!)Come as your favorite creature, character, concept, or just come as you are. Whether you’re dressed like sexy Frankenstein or existential dread in a cloak, you’ll fit right in.

🕰️ What to Expect

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM:Grab a name tag equipped with lots of fun stickers and explore the tables filled with games, coloring books, and friendly folks! We'll have convo prompts around the room to help you skip the small talk and dive right into the weird and wonderful.

8:00 PM – 9:00 PM:Monster Match MixerWe’ll play a few rounds of playful group questions and games to help you meet other strange souls. Not speed-dating, not speed-friending — just little bites of connection.

9:00 PM – 11:00 PM:Keep the party going with more mingling and music (that you can hear each other over!). Dance, flirt, play a game, or just chill with a drink and observe the creatures of the night.

⭐ Guidelines on How to Connect in this Space ⭐

We want to co-create a safe space to choose you own adventure without the pressure or expectations of others. You might be here to make friends, or lovers, or find your people, or find someone to go to shows with, or have craft nights together, or start a biz with, or just explore new people with no expectations at all! All of that is okay here!

This is a safe space for queer and consensually non-monogamous folks but anyone who is looking for friends or wants to learn about CNM is welcome! The only thing we ask is that you are nonjudgemental of other relationship styles. CNM folks are often isolated from their friends and family so having friends that aren't going to blame everything on the relationship style is an amazing feeling! We do not judge anyone for how they practice CNM and believe everyone has their own journey. If anyone at our events says otherwise, please remind them that we do not do that here!

We do not ask for phone numbers or contact info in this space. Instead, we write our own contact info on a note card and hand it to the person we want to connect to. We live in a society that doesn't always enable us to say a true yes or no and the cards are meant to take away the pressure.

When you hand someone your info, there is no expectation of it being reciprocated. You do not know the reasons the other person is at this event, or their backstory, or their trauma, or if they are oversaturated, or if they JUST don't feel like it today! If they throw away your card, that has nothing to do with you! We are all complex humans with complex lives so let's give people the benefit of the doubt and find the people that have the space for connection with us.

This type of space is a co-creation! If someone isn't following the guidelines, you can gently let them know that "We do not do that here" and show them what we do instead. Let's build a safer and more consensual community together!

We are a group of CNM folks trying to build more community in Pittsburgh and would love to collaborate on future events.

Consensual Non-Monogamy (CNM) is the practice of having multiple connections with the consent of all parties involved. Relationship dynamics are different for everybody, and we want to create a space to learn more and get to know other people who are exploring it too.

We want to put on socials, potlucks, roller skating outings, parent picnics, and more. If you have any ideas for a new event, let us know!
