The Mongrel Mash is back- and better than ever- for its second year! Join us for this Howl-o-ween party of epic proportions to celebrate all of the South Portland dogs.
Note: all dogs must be on a leash for the entirety of the event.

This Event Includes
Dog-related vendors
participants can visit vendors, socialize with other pups, take photos in the photo booth, and sign up for last minute costume contest registration (if space allows)
Pet Supplies Swap
You can bring pet supplies that you don't need to the swap area and exchange them for something that you are more likely to use. Items must be in good condition. Any leftover items will be donated to the Animal Refuge League. Examples of items we will accept include:
Collars/ leashes
Pet beds, crates
Pet dishes
Pet soap
Lightly used toys, tennis balls
Unopened food/treats
Halloween Costume Contest
Costume contestants will meet at the gazebo, where each pup will be announced and walk through the gazebo. Costume contest judging starts at 11:30am, and announcements of the winners will close out our event!
Two ways to enter the Costume Contest:
1. In Person Contest-
Register at the event anytime up until the costume contest begins. When it is time to start the contest, come to the gazebo and be ready to walk across with your pup!
categories include: Funniest, Spookiest, Most Creative, Best Dog and Owner Duo
IN-PERSON COMPETITION IS CAPPED AT 40 DOGS
2. Online Contest-
We know that not all dogs are able to attend large event like this, but that doesn't make them any less cute! We want to see their costumes too. For that reason, we are hosting an online contest as well. To enter, send a picture of your dog in their costume to [email protected] along with your dog's name (and nicknames) and a short description of your pup (3-4 sentences). We will share these pics on our social media and announce the winner at the same time as the other categories.
