Mongolian traditional dance is an important part of Mongolia’s cultural heritage, expressing the history, traditions, daily life, and unique identity of the Mongolian people through movement.
The goal of this program is to help children growing up in the United States learn, preserve, and celebrate Mongolian traditional dance while staying connected to their cultural heritage.
During the school year, students will:
Learn approximately 4–5 Mongolian traditional dances
Develop coordination, flexibility, strength, and body movement
Build confidence and performance skills
Learn to express themselves through dance
Strengthen their connection to Mongolian culture and traditions
Learn and grow together regardless of age or previous dance experience
Students are encouraged to practice what they learn in class for 10–15 minutes each day. Consistent practice is an important part of developing their dance skills.
