Your Topic:

Money, Money, Money: Financial Inequality in Modern Society
Why do women still retire with less money than men? Why are so many financial systems built in ways that disadvantage women, even today? And how much of our relationship with money is shaped by psychology, culture, and the world around us?

Join bestselling author, strategist, and financial behaviour expert Angela Meyer for a fascinating conversation exploring the intersection of money, gender, power, and systems change.

Drawing from over a decade of work across finance, government, advocacy, and the creative industries, Angela will unpack the hidden forces shaping women’s financial realities - from pay gaps and financial conditioning to confidence, equity, and the cultural narratives that influence how we think about money.

Your Speaker:

Angela Meyer is a #1 bestselling author, gender equity advocate, financial behaviour expert, keynote speaker, and award-winning strategist working across finance, business, the arts, and government.

She began her career in culture and creativity, co-founding the dance troupe The Real Hot Bitches, before going on to co-found and lead Double Denim, an internationally award-winning creative agency focused on the female economy. That work sparked a deeper focus on how systems value women and where money fits in.

That curiosity led her into finance and a decade-long focus on women and money: why women have less of it globally, why they are more likely to retire into poverty, and how much of that is structural, cultural, and psychological.

Angela is the co-founder of Hi Money, a programme that has supported thousands of women across Australasia to build financial confidence and clarity by starting with money psychology before moving into practical action. Alongside Rachel Davies, she co-authored the #1 bestseller Money, Money, Money (2026) and has helped shape a growing movement focused on putting more money into the hands of more women.

She is also the co-founder of Project Gender, a feminist insights and campaigns agency delivering evidence-led change. Her work includes national advocacy for a National Women’s Health Strategy, YouChoose2020 (a nationwide women’s priorities survey), and Mako Mama Mangopare, the most comprehensive study of single parents in Aotearoa. In 2026 she will co-host Pocket Change, a new podcast on pay equity.
