It’s that time of year again!The primary goal of the Money Hungry Annual Block Party is to raise funds to support the youth of East Vancouver. We believe that by investing in the younger generation, we can help break the cycle of poverty and create opportunities for success. The money raised at our event goes directly to local programs that provide essential resources such as education, mentorship, and recreational activities. These programs are crucial in empowering young people to build a better future for themselves and their community.
Your support will go directly toward supporting the Maclean BC Housing Youth program. In partnership with BC Housing, they have launched this pilot as a summer program within the Strathcona neighbourhood. The mission, led by Youth Program Director Rohani Seddiq, is to continue this program year-round; supporting youth in the neighbourhood, many of whom have challenges or barriers to other programs in the neighbourhood.

Donations and money raised for this program will go toward some of the following costs:
- Food (we provide nutritious snacks and meals to the youth each day)
- Program supplies (such as art supplies and sports equipment)
- Workshops and educational field trips around the neighbourhood
- Supporting youth staff progression which aims to train the older youth into volunteer leadership positions, and then paid employment within the program.
