Heidi Lanita takes the stage to host the Blue Room's Monday Night Jam Session. Known for her captivating vocal presence, Heidi has graced stages across Kansas City — including her own Jazz @ Noon and Monday Jam features at the Blue Room — and she brings warmth and musicality to every performance. A singer hosting the jam changes the whole flavor of the night: expect standards you know, grooves you don't expect, and plenty of room for the players who show up.
The Monday Night Jam is the week's best hang at 18th & Vine: the featured artist plays a full set at 7 pm, then the stage opens up. Horn players, vocalists, rhythm sections, students working up their first tune — everybody gets a shot, and some of the best moments in the room's recent history have come after 8 o'clock on a Monday. Bring your instrument. Bring your ears.
Cover: $10 general public; free for AJM members, musicians, and students. The featured set starts at 7 pm; sign up at the door to sit in.
