Monday Night Jam Session at the Blue Room

Monday night at the Blue Room is a Kansas City tradition: the jam session, alive and well on the corner of 18th & Vine, in the room where the city's jazz history was written. The evening's featured artist opens with a full set at 7 pm, and then the stage belongs to whoever brought their horn, their sticks, or their voice.
This is where the KC scene comes to stretch out — seasoned pros trying new tunes, students taking their first chorus in public, singers calling standards, and a house rhythm section that keeps the night moving. No two Mondays are the same, and some of the best moments in the room's recent memory have happened after 8 o'clock on a night nobody saw coming. Featured artist to be announced — watch this page.
Cover: $10 general public; free for AJM members, musicians, and students. The featured set starts at 7 pm; sign up at the door to sit in.
