This one hour class is perfect for Moms like you looking to slow things down, take time just for you and rest.
Come solo, or invite your mom, someone that has been like a mom to you or your mom squad to enjoy this relaxing evening for all you do for others every day.
What you can expect in this style of yoga is a class focused on relaxation. No physical effort is required. Using props, restorative poses hold you rather than you holding them allowing you to release any physical or mental tension you may be carrying and encouraging surrender into a deeper sense of relaxation and stillness.
Restorative Yoga incorporates the use of many props. Postures are held for longer periods of time (anywhere from 5-20 minutes) to initiate deep relaxation. Props such as blocks, bolsters, blankets, straps, sandbags and eye masks are utilized to offload the joints, relax the muscles, and activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
This restful class is suitable for all and is recommended to anyone wishing to counter a busy lifestyle, reduce stress levels, address anxiety issues and anyone living with a long term health or chronic pain condition, or anyone simply wishing to maintain high energy levels. Restorative yoga rejuvenates and calms.
There is a minimal amount of movement in a Restorative class so students are encouraged to wear comfortable, cozy clothes and socks to class. Props are available at the studio, and all are welcome to bring their own props (ie blankets)to help make them comfortable in their practice.
