Mommy Issues Poetry Slam

Hosted by the hilarious B2Funny, Mommy Issues Poetry Slam is an annual spoken word collaboration that captures the different angles of motherhood, angles that parents or outsiders may not always see. Join us for a night of raw and emotional poetry as we explore the complexities of parenthood and family dynamics…Bringing life into this world is a beautiful thing. There are many hurdles, milestones, and misunderstandings along the way. There are also just as many beautiful things to celebrate and honor. There are losses that require grieving people who have transitioned from this life, as well as people who are still living. This event will capture the essence of motherhood or the lack thereof - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Poetry isn’t therapy, but it can be therapeutic, and sometimes healing comes through releasing.

Open mic sign-up ends at 5:45pm, so please arrive in a timely manner.

A friendly reminder that this event is a slam that will be scored by three judges. The top three poets will win cash prizes.
