🐝 Mommy & Me + The Honeybee at Wren Haven Homestead 🐝
Part of our Farm School Program
Join us this month at Wren Haven Homestead for a buzzing good time as we welcome Cher Clary from Beachin Bees Apiary in Perdido!
Children will step into the fascinating world of honey bees and local pollinators through hands-on learning and creative exploration.
During this special event, we’ll:
✨ Explore a demonstration hive and discover the tools and clothing real beekeepers use.
🌼 Learn about the vital role bees play as local pollinators in our ecosystem.
🕯️ Roll beeswax taper candles to take home.
🍯 Savor freshly baked honey muffins with tea and locally sourced honey.
📖 Study bee anatomy and have fun labeling the parts of a bee on a printed coloring page, older children will be encouraged to draw and label in their journals.
🐝 Take a short nature hike to see the bees in action collecting pollen, drinking nectar, and cooling off with water at the pond.
This experience blends science, creativity, and connection to the natural world — all while celebrating the incredible honey bee!
Please Bring:
– A curious mind ready to learn and create!
– A water bottle, and comfy shoes for a walk.
– A nature journal and/or paper, plus colored pencils to draw.
Parents must stay with children at all times. As this class is a little long, you are welcome to bring a sack lunch to enjoy on the Homestead with your child after class.
Extra Sweet Details:
🍯 Local honey and honey products from Beachin Bees Apiary will be available for purchase.
👧🧒 Open to children of all ages.
👨👩👧 Family Discount: $5 off for each additional child enrolled from the same family.
