Moments with Millie by Elizabeth Guffey

Join us for a staged reading of this new work based on the life of Mildred Pettengill. Miss Pettengill has fascinated Freeporters for decades. We know a lot about how this remarkable woman lived on her subsistence saltwater farm, but her inner life is a bit of a mystery. Local playwright Elizabeth Guffey invites us to imagine who she was through her relationships with family and friends as she navigates life’s challenges.

A conversation about Mildred’s place in Freeport history, with the playwright and Freeport Historical Society will follow the reading.
