About the artists:
T'iju T'iju
Since 2007, Dutch composer, musician and interdisciplinary artist Jochem van Tol (1983) has ventures into offbeat, unbeaten paths between sound and performance, applying bygone or neglected arts and crafts in creative, pioneering ways. Most notably longtime project The Paper Ensemble, which he founded alongside Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti; a holistic study in the musical proponents in everyday objects and materials, deep listening, and acoustics. Using custom-made paper sculptures in their performances, constantly evolving dialogue where ordinary sounds become sentient characters.
”Physicality and the use of matter or materials has always been important to me. I’ve always considered myself a maker first. Besides the idea of music as a ‘universe of sound’, I always enjoyed building and crafting things. With The Paper Ensemble, it was always a big exploration, driven by my own curiosity.”
As an alumnus of the The Hague Conservatory Interfaculty for Image & Sound, Van Tol’s work is as much a playground for extensive research as the act of creating. Since 2007, he has performed and exhibited extensively abroad, especially in Japan alongside artists such as Yoko Ono, Mamoru, John Cage, Yukio Fujimoto, Francis Alys, Germaine Kruip, Toshi Ichiyanagi and Ken'ichi Nakagawa. Additionally, Van Tol has participated in various projects, residencies and bands at festivals such as Rewire, Lowlands, Tokyo’s Experimental Art&Sound Festival, Meltdown Festival and Le Guess Who?
Myuné:
Myuné is Amor Amezcua’s project, somewhat dream-pop somewhat dark-electronic rock. Releasing her debut album “Nothing that matters” in 2016. Her music is impregnated with a certain dream hue where her voice is submerged, she plays with synthesizers and drum machines that will only put us in a certain contemplative state. The music of Myuné lets us fall slowly on technicolor clouds without perceiving that we fall upwards, the melancholy slowly weaves itself between its melodies and the beats come and go like small explosions in the sky.
Through her career she has performed in festivals like Coachella, SXSW, Desert Daze, Ceremonia, and world touring. Last year we saw her reemerge with her new EP series “Moonlight Face Vol. I” and “Moonlight Face Vol. II” where she works in exposing how she has grown to understand life emotionally and musically. This is definitely a promising project you’ll want to follow. Her new LP ‘Fuera De Lugar’ came out in 2022.
For this Molk night! Myuné will be presenting:
Invocation of Leadership
A sacred concert with Myuné honoring Archangel Michael
This performance will be the fifth installment of a 12 part tour around the UK and EU, which Myuné dedicates to each of the 12 Archangels.
The main idea of Myuné’s performance at MOLK Factory is an embodiment of an invocation of Archangel Michael, The Cosmic Leader. Igniting an improvised musical set of 12 minutes with a live choir of femme voices. Mixing Butoh practices with chant and music. Healing through chant and sending out a prayer with the power of Michael to inspire us to transmute our baser feelings into our higher calling, so we can achieve magical clarity around our leadership potential.
DJ PussyRita:
PussyRita is the dj name of Rita Bifulco, a performer artist from Italy who since 9 years is deep into the Dutch mime theatre scene.
Her music mixes are eclectic, intricate and juicy. She creates an oneiric and chaotic atmosphere layering different electronic music with south Italian tunes and anything else with "intensity" as a surname. Come and dance!
