Molisound | Il suono del Molise incontra il mondo | first stop | Hamburg, Germany

The first stage of the MOLISOUND project will take place in Hamburg from 10 to 14 June 2026 and will provide an important opportunity for training, cultural exchange, and the promotion of Molise’s musical heritage in an international context. The programme includes participation in the ELBJAZZ Festival, meetings with Molisan musicians living and working abroad, in-depth sessions devoted to the study and interpretation of the regional repertoire, as well as concert and outreach activities at the Italian Cultural Institute in Hamburg. This experience will enable participants to engage with European artistic environments, fostering professional development and enhancing the appreciation of Molise’s musical traditions.

Participation in the ELBJAZZ Festival and visit to the Elbphilharmonie, one of the world's most prestigious and captivating concert halls.
11 June – 9:00 AM
Educational Meeting with Paolo Petrecca
The trumpeter from Larino, currently based in Amsterdam, will share his professional and artistic experience in Northern Europe, discussing the opportunities, challenges, and prospects of pursuing a musical career in an international setting.

Featuring Luca Ciarla, Manuel Petti, Lorenzo Mastrogiuseppe, and Marco Molino, with special guests Paolo Petrecca and Giuseppe “Spedino” Moffa.
12 June – 9:00 AM
Educational Meeting with Giuseppe “Spedino” Moffa
A session devoted to the interpretation of Molise’s musical traditions. Drawing on his artistic and research experience, Moffa will guide participants in discovering the expressive, stylistic, and cultural characteristics of the regional repertoire, providing valuable tools for preserving and transmitting Molise’s musical heritage. Not open to the public.

Molisound Ensemble Lecture-Concert
The ensemble will present a lecture-concert dedicated to the reinterpretation of Molise’s musical traditions. Through original arrangements, new compositions, and informative presentations, the musicians will illustrate their ongoing research and creative engagement with the region’s musical heritage, highlighting its contemporary relevance, vitality, and expressive richness. Special guest of the evening: Gabriella Pattberg.
