Molecular Luminescence: Communal Bonds

In “Molecular Luminescence,” participants will engage in a hands-on, dynamic, communal creative workshops co-designed by awe.curation and Kai Lab, in conjunction with the 'Light in Motion' exhibition.

Utilising modular kits designed by Kai Lab, visitors will co-create an evolving structure that lights up the dark, evoking the intricate beauty of molecular bonds. Hosted by awe.curation, this workshop explores the synergy between light, motion, and collective creativity, resulting in the creation of a unique, interactive installation on each day of the workshop. The project emphasises the ritualistic aspects of communal building and shared artistic endeavour, fostering a sense of interconnectedness and purpose. Participants will partake in a meaningful process that not only brings light to the gallery, but also symbolises the power of coming together to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

The workshop experience highlights co-creation between the community and members of the nine studios participating in 'Light in Motion', an exhibition presented by Acrylicize as part of London Design Festival 2024. Taking place on the first Saturday and last Sunday of the Festival, this event marks both the beginning and the end of the exhibition, framing the artistic journey. The workshops also offer an opportunity to speak with the artists in the exhibition space and get insight into their creative practice.

‘Light in Motion’ is a group exhibition of artists, designers, and engineers who utilise contemporary materials, processes, and cutting-edge technologies to bring innovative light-based works to life.
