About this Event
Workers and their families rely on unemployment insurance (UI) benefits to remain financially stable following job loss. Unfortunately, state agencies have struggled to limit fraud and overpayment risks while quickly delivering benefits to legitimate claimants. In 2020, COVID-19 and its subsequent economic fallout revealed alarming gaps in the UI system's ability to maintain the highest programming performance and integrity standards. This panel discussion will highlight policy opportunities to modernize UI to serve workers, businesses, and taxpayers better.
