Modern Collector x Nancy Savage Photography

Join us November 18th, 5pm-8pm at Modern Nomad for our Modern Collector launch party, featuring Nancy Savage, a talented Denver local photographer whose work has been published in the National Geographic. 

Modern Nomad Home is proud to present Modern Collector, a line of rare artifacts, textiles, and jewelry from around the world. Modern Collector has connected us with amazing artists and women around the world, and we hope to share that connection and their stories with you come November 18. 

The shops at Modern Nomad will be open until 6 PM for guests who want to shop. Beverages & food will be provided throughout the night. Exhibits will feature Nancy Savage's work, Modern Collector pieces, and an African Capsule jewelry collection by Modern Nomad resident, Tina Ulibarri. Discussion with Nancy Savage & Lindey Anderson, who has been immersed in the African art scene for the last 5 years. Her experience with traders and collectors has amplified her knowledge and passion for African art, textiles and beads.

A message from Modern Nomad Home founder, Becky Miller: 

“I have been collecting artifacts, textiles and jewelry from around the world since I was young.  I have always had the travel bug, and exploring other cultures has been a huge source of inspiration to me.  My home has always been my canvas and I love mixing modern with ancient. Whether I find an object in a flea market or through a trader, I buy what speaks to my soul. I imagine that most of these objects have a story to tell, and having them in my presence makes me feel more connected to the world.  Modern Nomad Home has given me the opportunity and extreme pleasure of sharing these objects with you.”

NANCY SAVAGE is a Colorado native photographer. For the past twenty years, she has made a commitment to explore and photograph the far ends of the Earth and everything in-between. Her style as a photographer lies somewhere between lifestyle and documentary photography. She treasures the many unique and exclusive places she’s been but her true love is the diversity of people she’s come to know along her journey. Nancy documents the candid essence of people, capturing their natural character and emotions.

She will be giving at a talk at the event & several of her pieces will be on display. Here are a few..

African Capsule Collection by Tina Ulibarri

Tina Ulibarri is a Denver local multi-generational jewelry artisan, who owns 2kisses Jewelry. 

She mixes metals & semi-precious stones with vintage artifacts & modern elements — from old watches, antique silverware, to vintage beads— to create wearable gems for the everyday person.

Tina is inspired by her father, Herman Ulibarri who owned a jewelry store himself here in Denver on 17th Street. His strength, tenacity, and passion for life made him a successful entrepreneur and a gem. Coming or going, he would always give you two kisses. 

She will be showcasing her African Capsule Collection, featuring re-worked African beads at the Modern Collector Launch Party.
