COME TO MODAL-JAM WITH US
The modal jams focus on traditional makam music regions spanning from Anatolia to Central Asia and across the Mediterranean, Greece, the Balkans, Northern Africa and all the way to Andalusia.
Modalmusic.cz, the organizer of these events, is a collective of professional Czech musicians raised in the Western tradition (jazz and classical) who aim to propagate the microtonal modal musics they are learning, to increase its awareness in the Czech environment and to reconnect Moravian folk music with its Eastern influences.
