About this Event
Thomas Claxton's "Me, Myself, & Us" Concert Series welcomes world-renowned artists: Liberty Devitto, Carmine Rojas, and Eddie Martinez for an incredible evening exploring the musical timeline of your lives...!
The 70s and 80s: Two decades that defined individuality and cultural expression. Through it all, the songs of the time period have left an undeniable mark on society and in our every day lives, becoming a part of our routines in the present and undoubtedly... the future. On January 13th, Thomas Claxton’s “Me, Myself, & Us” Concert Series takes a trip back in time, welcoming Special Guests: Liberty Devitto, Carmine Rojas, and Eddie Martinez, three performing artists that helped shape the music that we all know and love.
Credited on 13 PLATINUM ALBUMS that have sold over 150 MILLION copies (and counting), Liberty Devitto rose to prominence as the drummer / groove-maker for Billy Joel, joining him in the mid-1970's for the hit album, "Turnstiles", and remained on the drum throne for another 30 years. During his illustrious career, Mr. Devitto's career has seen him working with artists ranging from Paul McCartney, Carly Simon, and Karen Carpenter to Stevie Nicks, Rick Wakeman, and Meat Loaf. The "Me, Myself & Us" Concert Series is honored to welcome Liberty Devitto to our stage to share the stories and a taste of some of the legendary songs he left his mark on.
Carmine Rojas (BASS): Bass Guitarist, Composer, Musical Director... Carmine Rojas made his mark in the annals of musical time by providing his style of bass guitar to such greats as David Bowie, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, and Julian Lennon. Carmine's acclaimed style ranging from Rock and R&B to Funk and Jazz, can be forever enjoyed on iconic songs such as "Let's Dance", "Modern Love", "China Girl", as well as the unique stylings of artists such as Joe Bonamassa and countless others. This marks the return of Carmine to the MMU Concert Series and a welcomed return to Savannah, GA.
Musician & Songwriter, Eddie Martinez took his professional music career by the horns when the 1980's came along, first appearing on the map for such artists as Robert Palmer, Steve WInwood, and David Lee Roth... all within the span of LESS THAN A YEAR. From there, Martinez became a go-to performer, working with such marquee names as Mick Jagger, Meat Loaf, and Run DMC. Run DMC's hit, "Rock Box", which heavily features Eddie Martinez, is also commonly cited as the first rap video played on MTV. From a career that saw him touring with Blondie, performing the first Live Aid with Mick Jagger and so much more, the MMU Concert Series is looking forward to bringing Eddie Martinez back to the "Hostess City of the South".
