About this Event
Try your hand at weaving, and create your own piece with recycled wool leftovers from Australian Tapestry Workshop tapestries.
Central to ATW tapestry creation is their weaving material: the wool is dyed onsite in South Melbourne in a palette of over 360 colours, and grown using environmentally sustainable and humane animal practices. Here, you can experiment with their ‘bobbin ends,’ the saved wool leftovers from ATW tapestries that come in a stunning range of colours and textures.

Australian Tapestry Workshop (ATW) is internationally renowned for creating handwoven contemporary tapestries. We are unique to Australia and one of only a few workshops remaining worldwide. Each tapestry is a unique opportunity to engage with the ATW weaving team to explore artistic ideas and innovate. Our South Melbourne open studio, colour laboratory and galleries are a creative hub for engagement with tapestry, textiles and contemporary art. We develop and deliver multitiered programming that educates and inspires arts and general audiences through online and real-world avenues. We nurture creative exchange and share our specialist knowledge across generations.
