Join us as we honor Rabbi David Straus for his 24 years of dedicated and passionate leadership at Main Line Reform Temple Beth Elohim.

An Evening with Bret Stephens on Tuesday, May 17
Bret Stephens is a U.S foreign policy expert and highly awarded op-ed columnist at the New York Times, writing about foreign policy and domestic politics. He previously spent 16 years at the Wall Street Journal, most notably writing "Global View," for which he was awarded the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary.
Mr. Stephens has reported stories from around the world, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Gaza, and interviewed dozens of world leaders. In June 2017, he became a regular political analyst for MSNBC.
Born in New York and raised in Mexico City, Mr. Stephens holds a BA with honors from the University of Chicago, an MSc from the London School of Economics. He lives with his wife Corinna, a classical music and opera critic for the New York Times, and their three children.

Rabbi Pesner will celebrate Rabbi David Straus who has devoted his rabbinate to building a dynamic Jewish community, working in relationship across lines of race and faith to pursue justice. Rabbi Pesner will lift up the work of the Reform Jewish Movement nationally and in Pennsylvania to confront racism, antisemitism, and bigotry in all forms, and improve people’s lives by making systemic and structural change.

What time does the program start and end?
The program starts promptly at 7:30 pm. Main Line Reform Temple will be open for seating beginning at 6:30 pm. The program will start at 7:30 and will be followed by a question and answer session and a dessert reception.
Can I select the specific seat(s) I want?
Yes! Picking your own seat is easy and only takes a few steps. After you review all the details about the event, just click "Buy on Map" to view the venue map for the venue. All you have to do is click or tap on a seat to purchase it!
Where is General Admission seating?
General Admission seats are immediately behind the Premier seating and are unreserved. Seats will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Can I attend the dessert reception that follows the program?
Yes. The reception will be open to all who attend. Bret Stephens will be in attendance at the dessert reception.
Is MLRT wheelchair accessible?
Our entire facility is wheelchair accessible. There are wheelchair accessible seats in the Premier, and General Admission seating sections. Contact Gil Marder ([email protected] with questions or for assistance.
Do you have listening devices for the hearing impaired?
T-Coil equipped hearing aid users will be able to take advantage of the Loop system that is installed in the event space. Hearing impaired attendees without a T-Coil equipped hearing aid may request a listening device from an usher.
How are tickets distributed?
Tickets are available to purchase online only. Upon successful completion of registration, you will immediately receive an email confirmation of your order. Please print and bring your ticket to gain entrance to the event.
What if I cannot attend a program?
If you are unable to attend a program, we recommend that you offer your ticket(s) to a friend, neighbor or business colleague and encourage them to enjoy the program in your place. No refunds will be offered.

What are the parking options at MLRT?
There are a limited number of spaces in MLRT’s parking lot and street parking in the vicinity. We highly recommend Uber/Lyft for easiest access.

If you require handicap parking, please email your name, phone number and handicap placard number to Gil Marder at [email protected] before 4:00 pm on Friday, May 1.
Is it possible to get a video or transcription of a speaker’s program?
Unfortunately, the contracts with the speakers do not allow for recording and dissemination of the speakers comments.
