“Black Being” is a groundbreaking electro-acoustic exploration of the Black female experience. Featuring composer-performer duo FLUTRONIX (Nathalie Joachim & Allison Loggins-Hull), this immersive performance honors Martin Luther King, Jr. with a unique blend of lighting, electronics, poetry, and flute soloists with orchestra.
This compelling modern duo are known for their fusion of classical music with hip-hop, electronic programming, and soulful vocals.
Newly commissioned texts by poet laureate Jaki Shelton Green give voice to the complexities of Black womanhood.
Truly a one-of-a-kind event celebrating influential creators and socially conscious changemakers!
Pre-Concert Music: The West Suburban Flute Orchestra performs before the concert and at intermission for a Wentz Concert Hall exclusive!
