About this Event
All teens are welcome!
What values are most important to you? How can we act within the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. to create the world we want to live in? Where do peace and transformation intersect?
This coming MLK day, HopeWorks’ Youth Leaders in partnership with the MLK Day of Service Commission, strive to engage and continue these important conversations of non-violence, peace, and social justice that Martin Luther King, Jr. advocated for.
Young people ages 13 to 18 are invited to join HopeWorks’ Youth Leaders as teens engage in conversation and Zine creation around non-violence, peace, and social justice.
Zines are pamphlet-like publications created by you to express a message. They help us to reflect, grow, create connection, and share our stories.
Reflection will involve how teens' view and interact in their daily lives and how today's realities impact MLK themes of non-violence and peace. We hope to learn and share with each other in a way that can provide the most relief. Attendees will be encouraged to take their created Zine into their community to further hold these important conversations. Change begins with us.
