7th annual "Day On, not a Day Off" featuring service projects and donations supporting local organizations who help our neighbors in need.
About this Event

Join West Windsor Arts and African American Parent Support Group as we partner with local agencies to provide much needed assistance to the people they serve.

Volunteer in person on Monday January 20th to package donations for distribution and participate in special projects. The total number of volunteer spots are limited for the safety of our participants. Children are welcome to volunteer along with their parent/guardian.

If you can't make it, advance donations are still needed! Registration for donations is not required. See below for a list of needed items.

Bring your donated items to West Windsor Arts:

  • In advance: M-F, January 6 - 17 from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm; Sat, January 18 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
  • On the day of the event: Monday January 20th between the hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

We are seeking the following donations for these organizations:

Rise Community Services, for youth ages 3 - 12:

  1. new pajamas
  2. toothbrush, toothpaste
  3. gently used or new books

Children's Home Society, for moms and infants:

  1. handmade crocheted or knitted hats
  2. handmade crocheted or knitted baby blankets

Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK):

  1. feminine hygiene products (tampons, pads)
  2. plastic utensils (fork, knife, spoon)
  3. napkins
  4. elastic bands

PEI Kids, for young men and women aged 12 - 17, new:

  1. shampoo
  2. conditioner
  3. deodorant
  4. lotion
  5. face wash
  6. towel
  7. acne treatments
  8. nail clippers and files

Younity (formerly Womanspace) for older children and adults:

  1. activity books (like brain games, crosswords, soduku, etc.)
  2. puzzles
  3. books
  4. sketchbooks
  5. journals
  6. writing utensils
  7. stickers

MillHill Child Development Center, for young children:

  1. diapers (size 2T and up)
  2. wipes
  3. socks (toddlers - age 11)
  4. naptime blankets (all genders, ages 3 - 5)
  5. pajama sets (all genders, ages 3 - 10)
  6. underwear (all genders, ages 3 - 10)

Letters Against Isolation, for seniors in New Jersey:

  1. handwritten notes (find inspiration here)

For packaging the items (all projects):

  1. gift bags
  2. big clear recycling bags
  3. gallon ziploc bags
  4. brown paper lunch bags
