To honor the spirit and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., join us for a street clean up on this international day of service.
About this Event

To honor the spirit and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., join Surfrider Foundation Portland Chapter and the City of Portland for a fourth year in a row (minus 2021), in serving the community and the environment on this National Day of Service. Come volunteer with us and clean up MLK Blvd on Monday January 17, from 10am-12pm.

  • Please arrive for check-in at 9:30am, so we can start the clean up at 10am.
  • All participants must fill out a .
  • Dress for the elements and bring a non-disposable water bottle.
  • Human and fur child friendly.
  • Don't forget your handy, dandy mask.

This year we are meeting at a new location, Evo Portland, before walking MLK Blvd cleaning up trash and cigarette butts to ensure they do not reach and pollute our waterways. Safety vests and equipment provided (first come first served). Since we do have limited supplies, we suggest if you have your own gloves/buckets/pickers, to bring them.

As per Covid safety measures, we recommend you mask-up when you check-in at the event and when you are within 6-feet of others. The entire event will take place outside, so use your discretion once you split to clean up trash.

Reminder - street parking is FREE in Portland because it is a national holiday.
