About this Event
Participants will learn and explore collage methods that emulate organic processes of growth and decay. What does growth and decay look like, and how can we use those organic shapes and forms in collage? Shared in this workshop are new ways of layering, combining, and looking at images, as well as how to deconstruct/reconstruct them. This workshop offers any beginner or experienced artist an opportunity to decompose and reconstruct either their own images, or create something new from material provided in class. Optional: Come with paper prints of any images that inspire you (your own photos or found material) Preferably printed 8.5 x 11, but any materials can be added to the collage. I recommend multiple copies of images you like (Tip: the Cincinnati Library offers 20 pages of free color prints daily!)
Other items to bring with you:
Rotary x-acto (swivel knife/gyro cut) (Regular craft blade can work as a substitute) 9 x 12 cardstock Cutting mats, scoth tape, and a pencil.
