We are thrilled to welcome back Mixed Media artist, Kirstyn Wright, to the Wallace! In this Mixed Media workshop, students will create a 6x6 plexiglass oil painting inspired by photographs, by layering imagery over pressed materials placed behind the glass.
Participants are welcome to bring personal or found objects to incorporate. This workshop encourages rural communities to explore creativity and transform everyday items into original artwork. A light lunch and all materials are included in the course fee.
The workshop begins and ends at The Wallace Theater, with a brief field trip to a Hockley County Ranch in the middle.
Itinerary for the workshop:
9:15-9:45- registration, sign in and welcome
10-10:30- drive to ranch
10:30-11:30- ranch / playa tour (transportation provided)
11:30-12- return to theater
12-12:45 - lunch
1-2:30- art making
