Create a mixed media textile wall hanging using fabric manipulation, weaving, macrame and stitching.
Explore a range of fabric manipulation and textile techniques to create a textured wall hanging. You will learn how to combine different textiles crafts together to create a creative, textured piece of art.
What will learners achieve by the end of the course?
- Learn how to begin a hanging using a wooden dowel and macrame cord
- Learn how to use macrame and weaving to add structure
- Create a manipulated fabric panel using stitching
- Use weaving to add texture and shape
- How to attach fabric panels to a hanging
- Increase creative confidence by creating your own unique design independently
Resources required:
-Fabric offcuts; these can be from sewing projects, old clothes or offcuts from fabric shops
-Wooden dowel, approx 30-50cm long, this can either be pre-cut from a craft shop or cut from a longer length from a DIY shop. You can also use a small branch or rod made other materials
-Macrame cord or string
-Selection of yarn, wool or cords
-Selections of sewing thread and embroidery threads
-Sewing needle and embroidery needle
-Scissors

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
