Cost: $80 (supplies included*)
10 Participants Max // Ages 16+
*Materials provided include base papier-mâché mask form, air-dry clay, papier-mâché, beads, natural elements, and an assortment of found objects and embellishments. Participants are also welcome to bring personal materials or meaningful objects to incorporate into their work.
Masks have been a powerful part of human history across cultures and generations. We wear masks to celebrate, to transform, to conceal, and to reveal. Beyond the physical object, we also “mask” parts of ourselves every day—hiding anxiety, grief, insecurity, anger, or simply the aspects of ourselves that feel different from the norm.
Join Colleen for an afternoon of creativity and self-exploration to create personal masks using a variety of mixed media materials. What do you hide from the world? How do you wish to be seen? Your mask can reflect a part of your identity, express an emotion, tell a story, or simply celebrate your imagination. Whether your work embodies joy, curiosity, resilience, wonder, frustration, or healing, this workshop offers a space to create something uniquely your own.

Women’s Work is an exhibition of artwork by women that boldly confronts, questions, and reimagines the spaces women are told they “should” and “should not” occupy. Through diverse media, these artists confront the inequalities deeply rooted in the art world environment, address the systemic issues unique to women in the arts, and reframe the narratives historically used to confine or silence women.
