About this Event
In partnership with Dr. Chance Lewis, Carol Grotnes Belk Distinguished Professor and Endowed Chair of Urban Education and University of North Carolina Charlotte, the Center for Racial Equity in Education (CREED), and the Center for Black Educator Development (CBED), we are delighted to invite you to join us for an evening dedicated to honoring Black educators whose leadership, commitment, and service have shaped students, schools, and the broader Charlotte community.
We will honor outstanding Black educators whose lasting impact on students, commitment to mentoring the next generation, and leadership beyond the classroom have inspired many. You will also hear from the following dynamic speakers:
- Dr. Howard Fuller, Co-Founder of the Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy
- Dr. Crystal Johnson, Senior Administrator, Central Carolina Teaching Initiative (CCTI): Wake-Durham.
- Dr. James Ford, Executive Director, Center for Racial Equity in Education (CREED)
- Sharif El-Mekki, CEO & Founder of the Center for Black Educator Development
