Miss Ocean World was born in 2020 by Mr Yogesh Mishra, with over 20 years pageantry and event experience, this was
a chance to breathe new life to the pageant world, promoting and campaigning for a #pollutionfreeocean.
Whilst taking place during a global pandemic, the competition took place virtually, with Laura Hudson as the very first Miss Ocean World UK
She immersed herself into the competition, and the hard work and commitment she dedicated to the competition saw her awarded with the Talented subtitle, 3rd Runner Up, and secured her new title of Miss Ocean World Europe 2021
October 2023 saw the very first LIVE International competition, and Laura flew out to Jaipur, India, flying the flag for the UK throughout a week long competition, culminating in the exciting live final in front of an audience and panel of judges.
Laura walked away with the Best In Swimsuit award, and earned her place in the Top 5, moving forwards to the live, on stage Q&A round, before it was announced that the winner of Miss Ocean World 2023 was........UNITED KINGDOM!!!
“I had been waiting for the live Internationals for a few years, and my goodness, it did NOT disappoint!
To stand on stage and be able to shout UNITED KINGDOM with the Union Jack on the screen behind you is an
unbelievable moment, and a big responsibility.
To then be crowned the winner of Miss Ocean World is such a huge honour, and after all the hard work, to have a stage
and platform where I could truly be myself, sharing my passion for the Oceans, and to have a whole world watching you on your journey as an International Winner......it was an emotional moment and a dream come true.
To take on the responsibility of being the UK National Director is something I was keen to do from the beginning, as the
very first UK Queen, I hope to create a legacy, and continue to grow the UK competition as Miss Ocean World itself grows too. I hope to inspire many others to take part in the pageant, to learn more about themselves and what they are truly
capable of, empower them, find their confidence, and above all, encourage contestants to discover more about the plight of our oceans.
Whether you are already a keen ocean advocate, or willing to learn, whether the crown is in your sights, or you wish to
use the competition as a chance to grow as a person, I want you to be part of a supportive community, hoping to all
change our world for the better.
I can’t wait to crown a new family of UK Queen’s and work with them on their own journey of discovery, and of course, to
take our Miss winner to Internationals and show them what the UK can do once more”
