One shop. One century. One heck of a lot of stories!
A funny, uplifting two-hander about a little shop in a little town and the fierce, larger-than-life women who pass through it from 1919 to the present day. Mixing storytelling with comedy, songs and poetry, Ruth Cockburn and Keith Carter take you through 100 years of retail therapy and the lives of women from every decade.
The show is inspired by Ethel Carnie Holdsworth, a writer who worked in the Lancashire mills in the early part of the last century. She is cited as the first working class, female novelist in the UK and her words are used throughout the play.
Created by Constitutional favourites Black Liver, who are regulars at our comedy nights, as well as bringing previous shows "Support Your Local Library!" and "Love Letters From Blackpool".
