Miss Glamour Scholarship Pageant

A former pageant competitor has coordinated a scholarship pageant to empower, develop, enhance and build self-confidence in ladies, ages 4 years and up.

Lisa Blakely is hosting the Miss Glamour Scholarship Pageant on August 3rd at the Hilton Garden Inn in Arlington, TX. The event will begin at 2 p.m. at 521 E. Interstate 20.

The pageant is open to girls ages 4 and up with 6 categories: Tiny Miss (age 4 - 5), Little Miss (age 6 - 8), Young Miss (age 9 - 12), Teen Miss (age 13 - 17), Miss (age 18 - 24) and Ms./Mrs. Glamour Goddess (age 25 and up), she said. Miss Glamour is open to ladies nationwide.

No limit exists on the number of competitors. But a minimum of 3 contestants must participate in each division, she said.

The contestants participate in glamwear and evening wear competitions, with contestants aged 13-24 having a private interview and onstage question competitions. There is an optional talent and photogenic competition. There is no swimsuit competition.

Each contestant also must have a service platform. Five people from the area will serve as judges. "We have a great group of judges lined up,” Blakely added.

The Supreme Winner of the Miss Glamour Scholarship Pageant will receive a $500 cash scholarship to be used for admission, books or any needs of the contestant. Higher Education is encouraged by the pageant.

“Everyone involved is a volunteer. All have full-time jobs but are passionate about pageantry and what Miss Glamour Scholarship Pageant stands for — community service, education and empowering women.”

Lisa Blakely volunteered to direct the pageant because she remembers that pageants contributed scholarships to her education and developed her for overall success in corporate America.
