🎄 About This Event: Wreaths Across America 2026
Join Team RWB South Bend as we host and coordinate the 9th Annual Wreaths Across America Day at Mishawaka’s Fairview Cemetery.
Our mission is simple: Remember our fallen US veterans, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.
📜 The History Behind the Movement
What started quietly in 1992 with a surplus of 5,000 wreaths donated by Morrill Worcester to Arlington National Cemetery has grown into a massive global movement. In 2005, an iconic photo of those snow-covered wreaths went viral, capturing the hearts of millions. By 2025, the movement expanded to over 5,598 locations worldwide, placing more than 3.1 million sponsored wreaths on the headstones of our nation's heroes—with a third of those efforts led by children.
Here in Michiana, our community has proudly carried on this beautiful tradition for 9 years, growing larger and more impactful each December.
⏰ Ceremony & Event Details
• WHEN: Saturday, December 19th, 2026
• TIME: 12:00 PM sharp (Please arrive between 11:30 AM – 11:45 AM for parking. The Main St. entrance to the cemetery will restrict traffic flow starting at 11:45 AM for pedestrian safety).
• WHERE: Inside the John Young Middle School Gymnasium (just north of the cemetery). Note: If school sporting events require a location change, updates will be posted here and on the Team RWB app.
• PARKING: Attendees are highly encouraged to park in the John Young Middle School lot for a short walk over to the cemetery.
• WHAT HAPPENS: Following our indoor ceremony, we will walk over to Fairview Cemetery together to begin the wreath placement.

We are actively raising sponsorships to ensure every veteran's grave at Fairview Cemetery is honored. You can sponsor a wreath through any of our amazing local qualifying groups:
