MIRROR ALLEY is an interdisciplinary clown experiment produced by Chicago-based goofballs Toby Dick and Lord Violet.

Here's the deal: every performer gets an assignment.

A clown might hand a drag artist a weird character. A burlesque performer might assign a song. Someone might offer an image, a concept, a gag, a fever dream, or an obsession. Then the receiving artist must make an act inspired by that prompt.

The result is a glorious chain reaction of artistic mischief featuring clowns, drag artists, burlesque performers, and other delightful weirdos making brand-new work in conversation with one another.

Mirror Alley celebrates collaboration as a loss of control. We're curious what happens when artists start building strange bridges. This is a show about discovery.

We are a many-headed beast stumbling through a hall of mirrors. Come get lost with us.

The Newport Theater is up a flight of stairs with no elevator, but access to a Genesis portable mobile stairlift (rated up to 400 pounds) is available. Please email [email protected] advance of your arrival to coordinate entry and sign a waiver (required by our landlord).

There are four single-stall non-gendered restrooms available onsite.
