Miramar performs golden-era boleros -romantic songs made famous by Puerto Rican, Mexican and Cuban musicians through the last century- and their own original songs that explore a variety of musical influences. Bringing the bolero into the 21st century, their sound is simultaneously retro and entirely of the moment embracing new, contemporary approaches to the genre. They are associated with the Nuevo Romantico movement and carry the torch of Bolero-Beat, a popular genre defined by its blend of traditional boleros, psychedelic funk, and rock.
