Mir Mukhtiyar Ali is a celebrated folk and Sufi singer from Pugal village in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan, India. Belonging to the semi-nomadic Mirasi community, he represents the 26th generation preserving the oral tradition of Sufiana Qalam. His music blends raw Rajasthani folk with refined classical elements, bringing alive the poetry of Kabir, Mirabai, and Bulleh Shah.
Mukhtiyar Ali gained global recognition through the Kabir Project, making his international debut in 2007 and performing across Europe, North America, and Asia. He has collaborated with artists like Mathias Duplessy and contributed to films such as Tashan and Delhi in a Day. His soulful performances bridge centuries-old traditions with contemporary world music, earning him critical acclaim and a global audience.
