Course Overview

The morning will be spent getting to know workshop participants and laying out a schedule for the ongoing course. Everyone is encouraged to say what they want to get out of it, so we can help each other reach our individual goals – learning together in this unique way!

Topics covered in this course

The Role of a Minute Taker

The session will start with the participants discussing what is required to be a good minute taker. They’ll then have the opportunity to share ideas on how their groups can address some of the common pain points.

The Skills of a Minute Taker

Participants will then work out these characteristics of good note-taking: observing, listening, remembering detail.

Meeting Agreements

In this workshop, we’ll look at how to run an effective meeting. You’ll leave with three custom templates for making meetings a successful and productive experience for everyone attending.

Minutes Styles

In this session, we will briefly explore three different styles of minute-taking: formal, informal and action. Find out how to take down the most important details of all types of meetings!

What Do I Record?

In the next phase, those taking part will learn what to record in a meeting agenda so that it is productive.

Techniques for Preparing Minutes

During this session, they learn the skills of checking in order to template minute-taking techniques, organisational ways in which to construct comprehensive drafts, and proofreading hints.

Taking Minutes in an Interactive Meeting

This session involves participants continuing to explore the role of the minute-taker and looking at how the meeting can run even more smoothly.

The Minute Book

By the end of the day’s events, the participants will be able to leave with the ability to draft and maintain a minute book to record all these decisions.

Workshop Wrap-Up

At the conclusion, he brings the girls up to speed on where they’ve been: ‘You got an action plan in your hands [Whips blank piece of paper in air] Right now! And when you get home, you got places to go! You can get there!’
