⚡CHRISTCHURCH!! Minuit are headlining this one ⚡ It's our only South Island reunion show outside of Nelson (and Nelson's sold out!) Tickets only $35 + booking feeThis announcement makes us very happy because we thought it might never happen – ‘the Kiwi band with the French name’ are back together for a series of reunion shows.
Ōtautahi Christchurch has always had a place in Minuit's heart. So when 'Go Live Festival' asked if they would get back together for their winter festival, the answer came pretty quick.
Singer, Ruth, describes the gigs as: "a chance to dance, laugh and sing (in my case, often the wrong words), together live one last time."
Minuit (minwee) became a must-see live act through the 2000s. Fronted by the enigmatic Ruth Carr, her coy persona ignited while bandmates Ryan Beehre and Paul Dodge forged rib-rattling beats around her.
Their debut album, The 88, released in 2003, achieved gold status in New Zealand, quickly followed up by the 'I Hate Guns' EP.
Over the following decade, the trio toured their synths and samplers from Helsinki to Hanoi crafting their own refreshing sound – storming The Crystal Method's club night in LA, the FabricLive birthday bash in London, and headlining the Hanoi Music Festival in Vietnam. As well as, as many festivals and shows up and down Aotearoa as they physically could.
Having been retired since 2014, we’re excited to announce that Minuit are back onstage for a limited number of reunion shows.
These performances will pay tribute to classic tunes from all four albums 'The Boy with the Aubergine Hair', 'Except You', 'Fuji', 'Menace', ‘Aotearoa’, ‘I Hate Guns’, ‘A Room Full of Cute’, ‘25 Bucks’ – everything gets a look in, plus a couple of other surprises.
