About this Event

Join us at the next Columbus Eating Disorder Roundtable.

What does an affirmative approach to eating disorder treatment look like for LGBTQ+ patients? In this roundtable presentation, Dr. Zachary Soulliard, licensed psychologist and director of the Body Image and Stigma among Queer (BISQue) Populations Lab will discuss how eating disorder professionals can apply minority stress-informed principles in treatment with LGBTQ+ patients across disciplines and levels of care. Grounded in research on minority stress theory and LGBTQ-affirmative evidence-based practice, this presentation will explore how stigma toward LGBTQ+ people shapes eating disorder risk, while also highlighting how LGBTQ-related strengths and protective factors can support recovery. Attendees will learn practical strategies to provide more culturally responsive care for LGBTQ+ patients with eating disorders.
