With the snow finally behind us (we hope), it’s time to get outside and enjoy fresh air, breathtaking views, and incredible food! We’ve planned a fantastic day where you’ll experience the best of the Hudson Valley while connecting with great people.

How It Works

Your day begins with a scenic ride on the Metro-North Hudson River Line to Poughkeepsie, NY (or you can drive and meet the group at the train station).

First Stop: Lunch at the Culinary Institute of America’s student cafeteria.

Next: We’ll head to Lake Minnewaska to burn off a few calories and take in the iconic beauty of the Hudson Valley.

After the hike: We’ll visit RMV Vineyard/Cellars to relax, recap the day, and enjoy optional samples of their wine, beer, and cider.

You’ll likely be on the 5:50 PM train back home at the latest.

The Trail

Weather and conditions permitting, we’ll hike the Lake Minnewaska loop trail. This moderate trail follows carriage roads through wooded areas and around the lake.

Difficulty Level: 5 out of 10
Beginners are welcome, but you should be comfortable hiking approximately 2 miles. There are a few inclines comparable to climbing about 8 flights of stairs. Final trail selection will depend on conditions.
