About this Event

Welcome to the 2024 M.B.C. SPEAKER LINEUP SUBJECT TO CHANGE but all are confirmed as of now.

This years speaker are: Dr.Jeff Meldrum..... Dr. Jeff Meldrum is a Full Professor of Anatomy & Anthropology at Idaho State University (since 1993). He teaches human anatomy in the graduate health professions programs. His research encompasses questions of vertebrate evolutionary morphology generally, primate locomotor adaptations more particularly, and especially the emergence of modern human bipedalism. His co-edited volume, From Biped to Strider: the Emergence of Modern Human Walking, Running, and Resource Transport, proposes a more recent innovation of modern striding gait than previously assumed. His interest in the footprints attributed to sasquatch, was piqued when he examined a set of 15-inch tracks in Washington, in 1996. Now his lab houses well over 300 footprint casts attributed to this mystery primate. He conducts collaborative laboratory and field research throughout North America, and the world (e.g. China, Russia), and has spoken about his findings in numerous popular and professional publications, interviews, television and radio appearances, public and professional presentations. He is author of Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science (Tom Doherty Publishers), which explores his and other scientists’ evaluations of the contemporary evidence, and also affords deference to tribal people’s traditional knowledge of this subject. He has also published two field guides, one focusing on sasquatch, the second casting the net more broadly to consider the potential of relict hominoids around the world (Paradise Cay Publishing). He is editor-in-chief of the scholarly refereed journal, The Relict Hominoid Inquiry.

Scott Nelson..... R Scott Nelson, as one of few two-time graduates of the Defense Language Institute, served 20 years in the US Navy as a Cryptologic Technician Interpreter, a “Crypto-Linguist” in Russian, Spanish and Persian, during which time he conducted the Collection, Transcription and Analysis of hundreds of hours of the human voice on tape. After retiring from the Navy, Scott spent 20 years teaching at Wentworth Military College, and another three years at Missouri Military Academy as Chair of the Philosophy and Language Department.Peripheral to his teaching career, in 2008, Scott stumbled upon the “Sierra Sounds”, which he now calls “The Berry/Morehead Tapes” in which he recognized that the creatures were speaking a complex Human-like Language

Michael Freeman..... Michael is the son of research pioneer Paul Freeman, and is a historical researcher and expert on the Blue Mountain body of evidence. He can be seen on numerous podcast and television episodes speaking about his father’s research, the Freeman legacy, and his own book, the Freeman Bigfoot Files. Usually choosing to stay close to home, this will be Michael’s first time speaking in person outside of the Pacific Northwest.

Lyle Blackburn..... Lyle Blackburn is a native Texan known for his work in writing, music, and film. He is the author of several acclaimed books, such as “The Beast of Boggy Creek” and “Texas Bigfoot,” whose subject matter reflects his life-long fascination with legends and sighting reports of mysterious creatures. Lyle is also the founder of the rock band, Ghoultown, and narrator of documentary films including “The Mothman of Point Pleasant” and “Bray Road Beast.”
Lyle is a frequent guest on radio programs such as Coast To Coast AM, and has appeared on television shows including The UnXplained, Monsters and Mysteries in America, Strange Evidence, Finding Bigfoot, and The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs.
When Lyle isn’t writing books, researching cryptids, or performing with his band, he can be found speaking at various cryptozoology conferences and horror conventions around the United States. Just look for the trademark black cowboy hat.
