Minnesota 52 Hike Challenge - February Group Hike

What: February 52 Hike Challenge - MN Chapter | Group Hike

When: Saturday, February 22nd @ 1:00pm
Where: Fort Snelling State Park in St Paul, MN
Trail details & ability level: Approximately 4 miles of trails with 78 ft elevation gain. This trail is rated easy and takes approximately 1hr 30min to complete, HOWEVER, with winter weather and potential snow on trails, this may take longer, and we will pace ourselves to accommodate the possibility of varying trail conditions. Being able to hike at/around 2mph would be good for joining this hike.
We will be mindful of weather conditions before this hike, to ensure everyone's safety. This includes temperature, snow, and road conditions. If there is a cancellation necessary, we will try to do so within 24hrs of the day of the hike.
What to bring: Weather appropriate clothing (layers are best!), sunglasses, consider boot crampons/yaktrax for any icy conditions and better traction, a daypack or similar with water, personal needs, the Hiking 10 essentials, a snack, and a positive attitude!
Due to a larger group setting, no dogs or pets unless they are working/service animals.
Parking: Parking and admission requires a $7 day fee or your MN State Park Annual Pass!
Meet in front of the Thomas C Savage visitor center. "Thomas C Savage Visitor Center" within Fort Snelling State Park -The parking lot is directly in front of the Minnehaha Trailhead.
